SMU GRADUATE FEELING HOPELESS AFTER FAILING TO FIND JOB

I am a graduate of SMU, and have trouble finding a job for 2 years. I am wondering if there are any opportunities here because I have been looking on craigslist, indeed, jobsdb, regionUP, all for jobs but I suspect most of them are fake or just recruiters trying to collect resumes for the companies which are not even hiring.

JOBLESS GRADUATE: TEMP CONTRACTS FOR S’POREANS, FULL-TIME POSITIONS FOR FOREIGNERS

I graduated from a local university and my career path is somewhat similar as the author. It took me 1 year and 1 month before I got my first job at a MNC for $1800. What made me more upset is that, we locals are filled in lower jobs and very often they don’t offer full time positions to us. Locals are treated like second class citizens, contractors. I was upset why FT are given full time roles and locals contract roles and THERE IS NOTHING THAT THE GOV IS DOING TO RESOLVE this problem

JOBLESS ITE GRADUATE STRUGGLED WITH LOW WAGES AND SELF ESTEEM

I let my ICA contract expire in late Oct 2013 and then worked at Isetan HQ as Clerical Assistant from mid-Nov to New Year’s Eve last year, then as a Postal Officer at SingPost Ayer Rajah Delivery Base from this March to mid-April, with the latter left me overworked and burned out as the working place that I was posted to was too far from home in Toa Payoh and located in a remote industrial estate at one-north, Buona Vista area.

SINGAPOREAN SUBMITTED 400 JOB APPLICATIONS BUT ONLY RECEIVED 3 INTERVIEWS?

I have applied for more than 400 jobs during this period with only 3 interviews, surprisingly all from different industry. My friends in the industry have also recommended me for positions within their company but to no avail. I think I share the same experience as many in this forum in feeling shame, despair, hopelessness and many other feelings which I don’t think can be expressed in words.
