A pinoy stood up to a Singaporean and told him that it is not the fault of foreigners that Singaporeans cannot find jobs. He did not care that Singaporeans have to serve NS and he laughed off the suggestion that foreigners should serve too.

When they first comes, they took the low income job and you thinks its does not affect you! Some old folks affected! Then they took the drivers job, again you thinks it wont matters. Some less educated folks affected!

Chinese Daily Wanbao has reported on the story of a 50 year-old woman who has been sleeping overnights in Changi Airport so she could earn some money from renting out her 3 room HDB flat. She has been living in the airport for the last 8 years and reaped a sizable sum from renting her whole flat.

I have been hunting the job one and half year, even though I have had much experience in the field. But the job agencies told me their clients (companies) only want to hire max age range 35 to 40 or younger. So once they told them is 50, I will not given an opportunity although I meet the job requirements. I do not think that companies have the right to use age ad an excuse to refuse employment. There are people who are over 50 and have excellent health, look youner than their age and can perform as well as a 30 years old.

I aspired to enter the public service, in particular WDA, as I have the relevant job experiences. I was naive to wait for their reply which never came. After a frustrating few weeks wait I gave up and started to look for other jobs instead. I applied jobs through JobsBank since September 2015 but didn't even get a single call. I even tried applying jobs in NTUC through the site, but months after that the status is still new. What a joke! Especially when NTUC was aggressively promoting Jobsbank. I wonder if anyone is looking at it. I don't mind if I'm rejected but at least give me a status so there's closure. The more I use it, the more I think it's a scam. Once, I applied a job in Jobsbank. After a few weeks with no response I applied the same job on their company website and got a call the next day. What does it tell you?

I am a Singaporean, male Malay in my 30s. I suffered a thrombotic stroke in 2013, which affect the left side of my body. I have since recovered my walking abilities but have yet to regain the use of my left arm.
