FOREIGN AGENCY ENLISTED BY GOVT TO HELP LOCALS FIND JOBS

The irony of the Singapore workforce! We have spent so much time complaining that a lot of jobs are now going to foreign talents, while the locals cannot find jobs and are marginalised in our own countries. Guess what? The Workforce Singapore (WSG) have appointed Maximus Asia, a subsidiary of American company Maximus, to provide free help to local PMETs who are looking for a job. Yes, a foreign expert have been enlisted by the authorities to help locals find jobs in Singapore. The foreign company started operations on Monday, 12 June. In fact, it is the second foreign job placement agency appointed by the government to help locals find jobs. the first company, Ingeus, started operations in April. It was not disclosed how much the two foreign companies are paid by the government to help Singaporeans find jobs.

JOBLESS YOUTH SNAPS AT SG CHURCH CAMP AFTER BEING MOCKED

A jobless Singaporean youth went berserk yesterday after he was mocked by a fellow youth at a local youth church group. According to a reader who witnessed the scene, the youth had been sharing about his difficulties in finding a job. He was mid-way through his sharing when a fellow group member interrupted him and mocked at him, telling him, "Why you don't be humble and just suck it up..."

SG UNEMPLOYMENT AT HIGHEST LEVEL SINCE 2010

Joblessness in Singapore is at its highest level since 2010, with total unemployment hitting 2.2% in the 4th quarter as opposed to 2.1% last quarter. This level of unemployment was last seen in the 4th quarter of 2010, when Singapore was recovering from the effects of the global financial crisis.
