24 year old Muhammad Khairul Mohamed, an auxiliary policeman deployed at Woodlands Checkpoint as an outrider was detained under the Internal Security Act for planning to travel to Syria to fight in the war. His colleague, 36 year old Mohamad Rizal Wahid who knew of his plans but failed to report to a superior officer or the authorities was similarly detained and put under restriction order for supporting Khairul.

Yesterday Singapore's first radicalised female Syaikhah Izzah Zahrah Al Ansari (22 yr old) was detained for support Islamic State terror group but I see some citizens refuse to believe in her crime. They say Singaporeans should not blindly trust the government's words and asked to see proof of Izzah supporting ISIS. A simple internet search found pictures of Syaikhah Izzah Zahrah Al Ansari dressed in a niqab together with her so young daughter holding up their index fingers (tawhid; oneness of Allah) which has been misused by ISIS as their symbol of victory over the infidels. How could she do this and get her young daughter involved in her mistaken violent beliefs?

A Singaporean man is being investigated for allegedly going to Syria "with the intention to undertake violence" in the ongoing armed conflict there, said the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) in a media statement on Saturday. Haja Fakkurudeen Usman Ali, a 37-year-old supermarket manager, is a former Indian national who obtained his Singapore citizenship in 2008. A member of the public informed the authorities of his alleged travel to Syria after he had already left Singapore.
