The Human Rights Watch has called for Singapore to stop investigating activists who attended the vigil for Prabagaran and demanded the government to stop harassing them or denying them of freedom of speech.

Filmmaker Jason Soo is yet another person to be slapped with a travel restriction as the police are investigating him for taking part in a candlelight vigil for a death penalty inmate. "It's an example of how civil rights in this country are being gradually stripped away, inch by inch, little by little, until one day, we realize that the only rights we have left is the right to obey."
