JAPANESE CLUB ALBIREX WANTS TO BECOME LOCAL TEAM, DOES COMMUNITY OUTREACH

The duo, 12 year old Danial Feroz and 13 year old Tan Yu Hen, will attend the Yuhua Albirex Football Academy (Yafa) training tour from Sept 2-10 to train at Albirex's parent club in Niigata, Japan. Their trip, worth $3,000, is sponsored by the Albirex Sports Development Fund, an initiative from the club to develop sports in Singapore. Both teens are secondary students, and they will spend the week in Niigata to experience the football training there and experience first hand the Japanese culture.

5 Singaporean men have reportedly been offered employment with a Japanese Adult Video (JAV) producer, Tokyo Dreams (夢精スタジオ), after passing an audition set in Geylang. News reports about the lucky 5 were posted simultaneously on newly established news websites Is This Legit, Press Union, Foreign Journal and Sunday Register.

CHINA OFFERS AIR DEFENCE SYSTEM TO MALAYSIA TO DETECT "TERRORISTS"

Ties between Singapore and Malaysia are set to become testy as China attempts to drive a wedge between the 2 neighbors with its actions in trade and defence. According to The Malaysian Insight, China has promised loans for the RM55 billion East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) that would link Port Klang to Kuantan and provide a rail bridge for goods from the Strait of Malacca to the South China Sea, effectively bypassing Singapore's busy sea port.
