WOMAN HAVE JAIL TERM INCREASED FOR CONFINING AND ABUSING MAID

The jobless woman, Chua Siew Peng, 45, was living with her sister and her mother at the sister's Maplewoods Apartments when the offences occurred in 2012. On Oct 30, 2012, the maid employed by Chua, Ms Jonna Memeje Muegue, now 28, escaped the sixth floor apartment by climbing out of a window. She suffered a fractured feet when she landed on a roof one floor below. She had indicated that she cannot tolerate the abuse from the two sisters and the mother, whom she had been working for only 11 months. The mother had already been given a sentence of 21 months probation for punching, and slamming the maid's head against the wall. The mother had also poured bleach on the maid, and offence to which Chua had also joined in. The sister, initially acquitted,, but is now facing a retrial. Chua had even appealed against her original sentence.

AMOS YEE PLACED ON SUICIDE WATCH, STUCK IN US JAIL INDEFINITELY

Amos is currently out of suicide watch but his prolonged stay in jail is only making his situation even worse. Amos is suffering under great psychological stress. We are disappointed that immigration authorities under the Trump administration would not uphold our Western values of taking in persecuted political dissidents; our country was founded on these principles. We can only suspect inference by the Singaporean government as there would be no other legitimate reason for Amos to be detained for so long after being granted asylum by the court.

MAN JAILED FOR ATTACKING ROOMMATE WHO TURNED OFF LIGHTS WHEN HE WAS MAKING MILO

An 89 year old man was sentenced to 18 months jail for causing harm to another 89 year old roommate from the same old folks home. Both of them were from the Kheng Chiu Loke Tin Kee Home at Tampines. The accused attacked his roommate because he was unhappy at his roommate for turning off the lights while he was making milo. He had gone into the room in the middle of the night and poured boiling water on the man. He then slashed the man multiple times with a 14.5cm and 16cm knife. The 89 year old attacker surrendered after throwing the knife away into a nearby laundry basket. The victim suffered burns and knife wounds which required quite a few surgeries but has since recovered and is resting in the home. MAN JAILED FOR MOLESTING WOMAN AS HE HAD URGE TO TOUCH WOMAN’S BUTTOCKS

A 38 year old man was was jailed for two years and three months, and ordered to receive four strokes of the cane for molesting a woman last year. The guy, Benjamin Tan Jook Min, was walking around Havelock Road on August 2 at 2:30am, when he spotted his victim across the road at a traffic junction. The Court was told that he decided to follow the victim because he had the urge to touch her buttocks. He crossed the road and followed the victim as she walked, and at one point, hid behind an advertising board at a bus stop when the victim was looking for her mobile phone from her bag. That gave Tan a chance to slip on his work gloves he kept in his backpack, and he rushed forward and covered the victims mouth with his left hand. A struggle ensued, and he molested the woman after pulling her to the ground.

TWO SG BOAT CAPTAINS IN INDONESIAN JAIL FOR ALLEGED IMMIGRATION OFFENCES

Fishing boat captain Ricky Tan Poh Hui had pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months probation and a 5 million rupiah fine. While he is now free to go, the process of letting him go free from detention from Indonesian authorities may still take a week. Wonder why that long to let him go free, even when their courts had sentenced him. He was the second boat captain from Singapore to have been detained. Soo Chiau Huat was also detained n April last year, after his fishing vessel was caught in Indonesian waters. He had been cleared from illegal fishing by the authorities there, but is still languishing in jail for immigration offences.

APPEALS JUDGE DOUBLES SENTENCE FOR MAID WHO ABUSED BEDRIDDEN BOY

Although Kusrini was instructed to only place the suction cap outside the boy's nose and lips, she placed the suction cap inside the boy's mouth, which caused it to get lodged in the boy's throat when it accidentally was detached from the tube. She tried to fish out the cap from his mouth, persisting for 8 minutes even though her hand was covered in his blood.

CUDDLES CAT CAFE OWNER NEGLECTED THE HEALTH OF CATS IN HIS CAFE TO MAKE QUICK BUCKS

The owner, Jonathan Tan Wei-De, had falsified cat health records in his application for AVA's temporary licence to keep animals for public interaction on the premises. He was alleged to fail to keep the cats in good health. What kind of a man is this? Irresponsibly ignoring the health of the cats, just so that he could open his cat cafe and make money out of people who loves cats. Probably the health of the cats are the last thing on his mind, instead, it was all about the money. Well, spend the next two weeks behind bars and think about money. Good for you!

CONVICTED CHC CHURCH LEADERS FACE HIGH COURT APPEAL VERDICT ON 7TH APRIL

The 6 City Harvest Church (CHC) leaders convicted of misappropriating millions of dollars for their Crossover project will finally return to the High Court on 7th April 2017. The accused will come before Judge of Appeal Chao Hick Tin, Justice Woo Bih Li and Justice Chang Seng Onn. Their appeal outcomes is expected to be announced at 9.30am. State Prosecutors have appealed to the Singapore High Court to not only uphold the convictions but to also increase the jail sentences of all 6 CHC leaders. They proposed raising Kong Hee's jail sentence from the initial 8 years to 12 years.
