A current ITE student has set up an app that combines elements of Instagram and Facebook, and allows users to upload pictures of themselves and rate them by choosing emoticons. The emoticons consists of such things as "hot", "cute", "wow" and "sexy". The app is called Sbaey - a combination of steady and baey, which is a term of endearment used by youngsters nowadays.
Would you allow your young children to download apps that allows strangers to rate how they look? Won't this create a more stressful environment for the youths of today, where your every photo is scrutinized and open for discussions amongst friends and even total strangers?
