Cadbury chocolates sold in Malaysia have been cleared of containing pork. New tests conducted by Malaysian authorities found that chocolate bars made by the British confectioner do not contain pig DNA, contrary to a previous finding, the country’s Islamic affairs agency said on Monday. Cadbury withdrew two types of chocolate bars from sale in Muslim-majority Malaysia last week after government tests found traces of pork in them, leading some Islamic groups to call for a boycott on all of its products.

Islamic organisation respond to HPB’s FAQ on Sexuality

This response is to record Pergas’ disappointment to the Health Promotion Board’s (HPB) recent FAQ on sexuality. Pergas finds that the FAQ is insensitive towards the prevailing view of the Singaporean society. This is as reflected in the recent Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) survey which reported that 78.2% of Singaporeans views are generally conservative towards same-sex relation.

IPS Survey on Race, Religion & Language in 60 seconds

Race and religion important to Malays’ sense of identity: Malays residents felt that religion (70.1%) and race (51.9%) are important to their sense of identity. On the other hand, fewer Chinese residents felt that religion (15.6%) and race (22.8%) are important to their sense of identity.
