SINGAPORE ARMED FORCES TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE TO FIGHT TERRORISM IN PHILIPPINES

The Singapore Armed Forces will be giving assistance to the Philippines to help them counter terrorism threats in Marawi. This comes after a meeting with the Philippines' Secretary of National Defense. Minister of Defence Ng Eng Hen said Singapore will provide humanitarian supplies, transport aircraft, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, etc. Both of them look forward to work together to combat terrorism so that ISIS-linked networks do not set up bases in Marawi and launch future attacks in the region.

S’PORE IDENTIFIED BY ISIS TERRORISTS AS PART OF ITS EAST ASIA WILAYAH (PROVINCE)

According to local academic Jasminder Singh, ISIS terror group has included Singapore as part of its East Asia wilayah, a development which could embolden foreign fighters to carry out attacks locally. Other countries part of the wilayah are Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Southern Thailand, Myanmar and Japan. Singh told reporters that this development guides foreign terrorists and gives them an idea what the targets are and whom to attack.

UNDENIABLE PROOF EMERGES OF IZZAH AL ANSARI SUPPORTING ISIS, TRIED TO LEAD YOUNG DAUGHTER ASTRAY

Yesterday Singapore's first radicalised female Syaikhah Izzah Zahrah Al Ansari (22 yr old) was detained for support Islamic State terror group but I see some citizens refuse to believe in her crime. They say Singaporeans should not blindly trust the government's words and asked to see proof of Izzah supporting ISIS. A simple internet search found pictures of Syaikhah Izzah Zahrah Al Ansari dressed in a niqab together with her so young daughter holding up their index fingers (tawhid; oneness of Allah) which has been misused by ISIS as their symbol of victory over the infidels. How could she do this and get her young daughter involved in her mistaken violent beliefs?

FATHER OF DETAINED WOMAN REGRETS NOT REPORTING HER, ASK OTHERS TO BE ALERT

The father of the first woman who was detained under the ISA has expressed regret for not reporting her to the authorities. Mr Manaf did not seek help as he thought his daughter was getting better after she started watching movies and stopped wearing the niqab - a full veil that only leaves the eyes visible. He said she was good at hiding whatever she was doing. It was only until she was called up for investigations did he realise that she got worse. Mr Manaf also regrets throwing away his daughter's documents which detailed her plans to move to Syria. He said he did that out of frustration and disgust. Now that he regrets it, he is encouraging other people who face similar problems to alert the authorities or the Religious Rehabilitation Group once they notice suspicious changes in someone.

AUTHORITIES MAY TAKE ACTION AGAINST FAMILY OF DETAINED WOMAN

Authorities may take action against a family member of the detained woman, Syaikhah Izzah Zarah Al Ansari, for destroying important evidence on her plans to join ISIS. The family member attempted to erase the evidence after she was put under investigation. This comes even though they were against ISIS and did not support her radical ideas. The Ministry of Home Affairs said "The Government takes a serious view of the withholding of information that is pertinent to the safety and security of Singapore and Singaporeans... This is especially so if the failure to report leads to violent activities that would kill or cause harm to others".
