The worst was that he actually managed to go from 2011 to 2014 to take the IPPT on behalf of all these people, and almost got away with it. The fact that he was eventually caught because a trainer recognised him, is more down to him being too overconfident. Maybe if the guy had refrained from doing IPPT so soon for someone else in the same camp, he would have gotten away scott free even longer!

NSF POPS VIAGRA HOPING TO BOOST & PASS HIS IPPT, END UP STILL FAIL
Why? Because I was failing NAPFA's running portion, and desperately didn't want to join NS three months earlier. I read a news article that claimed that Viagra improved athletic performance by enlarging your blood vessels, allowing your heart to pump more oxygen and increasing stamina. At the time, it sounded like what I needed. Turns out... it didn't really work. Well, my running time improved by 10-20 seconds, but it wasn't enough to pass. With such a small improvement, I couldn't really chalk it up to the Viagra.

The Singapore Armed Forces announced that it is relooking other means of punishing reservist servicemen who do not take their mandatory miitary fitness test 3 times. It says the current practice of putting them through a 5-day physical fitness boot camp while undergoing confinement will be put on hold and reviewed.

This incident shows clearly that Singaporean males have very poor upper body and upper arm strength. They were unable to pull themselves up like those two foreign workers. Did you see Mr. Shanmuganathan's spider-like reflexes when he swung his way to the toddler's rescue? That is the kind of standard we need for the SAF. We don't want guniang soldiers who cannot carry themselves, what more their buddies. This is why with immediate effect, we will re-implement the Pull-up station into the IPPT.

MINDEF will make it more difficult for national servicemen to achieve silver and gold awards for the new 3-station IPPT test when it is fully implemented from April. The ministry said that more than 70 per cent and almost 90 per cent of servicemen maintained or improved their results for 2.4KM run and sit-ups respectively, compared to their results under the old 5-stations format. For the push-up station, 3 out of 4 servicemen achieved "average and above average" results when compared against international standards.

I am very disappointed with SAF. If the IPPT system is not broken, why fix it? What are the civil service scholars thinking? Why did they spend money to "upgrade" a system that hag lag issues and unreliable backend servers? We have already taken time and effort to train for our IPPT and yet we have to spend unnecessary time to wait for them to resolve computer problems?

Confinement, the bane of conscripted soldiers here, will continue to haunt reservists who skip the mandatory military fitness test three times in a row. Instead of a $100 fine - the usual penalty currently - citizen soldiers will soon be locked up in camp, "forced" to exercise and still pay a monetary penalty. The new regime starts in January, with a five-day boot camp aimed at getting operationally ready national servicemen (NSmen) fit, said the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF).

My initial impression of the NEW IPPT is that the changes are introduced in a rather haphazard manner. It worries me because I would not want our men to be guinea pigs to test out a half-baked system ill-thought through by Mindef. Over the years, it is not known how many casualties have been claimed by the IPPT. Recapping what is taught at the OCS – leadership by example, perhaps our male MPs could try the new IPPT system so as to motivate us with their stellar results?

In line with the Singapore Armed Forces's recent revision of the IPPT fitness test, the People's Action Party has made it mandatory for all elected male PAP MPs to set a good example and pass their IPPT. Failure to do so will result in heavy financial punishments.

Netizens on his Facebook page had mixed reactions to the changes, with some questioning if the new test would be too easy. The removal of three other stations also raised concerns among some fitness experts. Director of Genesis gym Jonathan Wong, who conducts IPPT training, told The Straits Times that while the new test was "significantly easier", it might undermine combat fitness standards.
