A Transcab taxi caught fire in the KPE tunnel towards TPE after ECP, leaving part of the tunnel closed. Thankfully, the SCDF managed to extinguish the fire and nobody was injured. Drivers are advised to avoid lane 4. Some were also told to abandon their motorbikes and exit the tunnel.

A professor was injured after a package exploded in his office at Yonsei university in Korea. The architecture professor found a package hanging on his door which suddenly exploded when he was opening it. He suffered burns on his neck, chest and hands and is being treated at the hospital. Nobody else was injured from the incident. The explosive was reportedly clumsily made as it only exploded from one side of the package. Korean news reports said the police are investigating and do not rule out the possibility of a terror attack.

Just a day after a traffic police officer tragically lost his life in an accident while on duty, another two police officers were taken to hospital after an accident following a car chase with a vehicle that evaded a road block. The accident happened in the early hours of Friday morning. The man driving the car, a 43 year old man whose name was not released by the police, was stopped at a road block along Mackenzie Road, but he had refused to comply with a police officer's instructions. He subsequently sped off and in the ensuing pursuit, the police car and the man's car was involved in an accident at Normanton Road. This resulted in the police car smashed into a flight of stairs. Two officers were taken to NUH, but it is understood that their injuries are minor.

A 75 year old woman suffered injuries after a 2kg block of wood fell and hit her on the head. The incident happened at around 11.30am yesterday as she was walking home from the market at North Bridge Road. Passers by gathered around her after hearing a loud noise followed by her screams. The woman called the police after her forehead swelled and she was feeling dizzy. She also injured her left eye and was sent to the hospital for treatment. She has since been discharged. Strangely, nobody knows where the piece of wood came from while some speculated it may have been from the air ventilation pipe nearby.

A motorcyclist has been warded in the ICU of NUH after he tried to avoid a wild boar that dashed across the BKE on Sunday night (Nov 13). This happened on the BKE towards PIE, after the Dairy Farm Exit. It is likely that the motorcyclist had lost control of his bike when he tried to avoid hitting the animal. He skidded and landed in the right-most lane of the expressway.
