TAIWANESE MEN ARRESTED FOR IMPERSONATING POLICE OFFICERS IN ANOTHER SCAM

Two Taiwanese men have been arrested by the police for their suspected involvement in a scam where they impersonated police officers to cheat their victims. The two suspects were arrested after CID managed to identify them, and investigations also revealed they have been involved in at least six other similar cases, their haul totaling about $100,000. Police did not indicate if the Taiwanese men are here on social visit passes, or long term visas.

SINGAPORE CUSTOMS NEXT TO BE USED BY IMPERSONATORS CLAIMING TO BE THEIR OFFICERS

The Singapore Customs is the latest in a list of Singapore authorities who have issued an advisory to the public over fake emails that are impersonating its officers. In the latest case, Singapore Customs had said that some members of the public had received such emails that were purportedly sent by them. The email, among others, required recipients to open an email link or file attachment, transfer a sum of money to an account of an individual, provide bank details and other personal information. The police are currently investigating, and members of the public have been advised never to divulge any personal information online, or make any kind of payments to unknown individuals.

TWO TEENS CAUGHT FOR IMPERSONATING POLICE OFFICERS, CAN’T WAIT FOR NS TO BE ONE

Police have announced that they have arrested two teens, aged 17 and 18, for impersonating police officers. The two men were alleged to have claimed they are police officers and had also separately engaged in aggressive tactics to seek donations in public. So daring these two young men. How did they think they can get away with this? Impersonating a police officer and engaging in aggressive donations tactic? Surely someone would have reported them. Worse still if these two young men were put in this situation by a company that required them to solicit the donations.
