SDP DEMANDS AGC TO INVESTIGATE ALLEGATIONS AGAINST PM LEE

Chee Soon Juan of the Singapore Democratic Party has called for the AGC to investigate allegations against LHL. "Even though LHL has addressed some of these matters in Parliament on 3 and 4 July 2017, his statements must necessarily be viewed as partisan as they were not subject to critical cross-examination. He has also refused to convene a Commission of Inquiry despite widespread calls from the public to do so." Dr Chee also asked for Lucien Wong and Hri Kumar to recuse themselves from dealing with this matter.

INDRANEE RAJAH SAYS ACCEPTABLE FOR AGC TO BE POLITICIAN, REALLY MEH?

I refer to the article “Indranee: ‘Perfectly acceptable’ for Attorney-Generals to be politicians in some countries” (Yahoo News, Mar 3). It states that “Many countries see it as “perfectly proper” to have an Attorney-General (AG) who is a politician, said Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Law, Indranee Rajah on Friday (3 March).

PAP: HRI KUMAR RESIGNED FROM PAP, SO NO PROBLEM WITH D-AG APPOINTMENT

Deputy Attorney-General designate Hri Kumar Nair is no longer a People's Action Party member, the party said on Friday (17 Feb) in response to TODAY's queries. It declined to say why Nair resigned. His appointment to the post has ruffled many feathers, especially due to his high profile run-ins with the Workers' Party (WP) over the Aljunied Hougang Punggol East Town Council issue.

APPOINTMENT OF FORMER PAP MP TO JUDICIARY NOT IDEAL

PMO has announced that Mr Hri Kumar, former PAP MP, will be appointed Deputy Attorney-General with effect from March 2017. I was asked by a local paper whether I had any concerns about partisanship, given that Mr Kumar was such a strong critic of AHPETC, our WP-run Town Council.

THE PEAK SAGA: HRI KUMAR AND SELFISH RC MEMBERS BETRAYED US

I am a resident of The Peak at Toa Payoh. At first, I did not want to write this very personal and damaging article. But seeing the high handed methods of the RC and their insistence on serving their own interests before the residents, I knew that I had to expose them.

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE PEAK @ TPY RC SAGA

A neighbour created The Peak @ Toa Payoh Facebook in 2012 so residents can come together online to update each other on the development of our estate. Then a small group of like-minded neighbours came together to organise activities for the community. This was the start of the RC where a number of very passionate neighbours from The Peak Council joined RC. Their goals were to be the voice for the neighbours. The first initiative the RC took on was to get the developer to address our engineering timber (ET) flooring issue.

PAP MP HRI KUMAR: I DISAGREE WITH NATIONAL LIBRARY BOARD

I do not believe homosexuality falls in the category of issues which should be excluded. In fact, neither does the NLB. It says it carries such books in the Adult section. But I think most neutrals would agree that children should read books with controversial themes supervised. I do not agree with the argument that destroying books is akin to censorship, and that all censorship is bad.

THE OLD LADY AND THE PENSION FUND

Well she is a former civil servant, going by her age bracket she should be one of the civil servants on the old style pension scheme that predated CPF. This probably means she is on the CFC healthcare scheme where her healthcare is basically free as long as she goes to a public clinic or hospital. Plus she's also one of the people who qualify for the pioneer package so her healthcare is pretty much assured. Also hor don't forget she lives in a landed property in Thompson. The people who live in that area are all living on a gold mine. Many folks online have said her home is worth $3 Million!

PAP MP AMY KHOR: BUT WE HAVE BEEN TALKING TO MADAM IRENE YAP SINCE 2012 TO CLEAR HER DOUBTS ABOUT HER CPF MONIES!

"Thus, it is important for the Central Provident Fund Board to clarify any erroneous perceptions and address public concerns." Both Dr Khor and the CPF Board explained in their statements that the CPF Board had notified Ms Yap four months before her drawdown age in 1998 that she could apply to receive monthly payouts from her RA. The CPF Board said that Ms Yap was in contact with them subsequently to clarify some matters. In 2012, in response to some queries Ms Yap had, the CPF Board reminded her she could start her monthly payouts any time, or withdraw her RA savings in a lump sum, provided she had property to pledge.
