HDB SAYS WE ARE NOT HOUSE OWNERS, ONLY “LESSEES”

HDB flat buyers have been taken for a very long ride and most are afraid to face the fact that none of us is an owner. PAP politicians who keep trumpeting our second highest home ownership rate in the world are in fact lying. HDB has already confirmed ‘owners’ are merely ‘lessees’ on its website, in line with Singapore statutes. The fact that we can’t mortgage HDB flats which we are supposed to own should have convinced flat buyers that we are not owners. PAP politicians are able to use ‘owners’ loosely in the media to impress upon Singaporeans that we do own public housing. This is not some half truth but a lie. TREE FELL INTO AUSSIE EXPATS HOME, NO ONE HURT

The spate of trees that fell on to the ground recently may have ended as suddenly as they started, but there was still a report today of a tree that fell. This time, the tree is reportedly about 8m high, and fell onto a wall of a house at Grove Drive on Thursday morning. The tree fell onto the wall and metal fencing of the house of an Australian lawyer, who had been staying in the house for the past seven months. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the incident. A resident speculated that as the tree fell in the early hours of the morning, no one was near enough to get hurt. The area where the tree had fallen is a popular drop-off point as it is near to two schools. Residents also said that the tree was probably very old.

It was around 7 pm when a light pungent smell hit the lower ground of my flat. We ignored the smell until the clock hit midnight then the pungent smell became so gagging. We off the tv & the lights. I place my daughter who was less than a year old nearest to the balcony (so very silly of me). I was in the middle and my hubby on my left. There’s no more pungent smell either but immediately after the light was off, come this eerie sinister sounds of laughter so loud, echoing into my ears. I caught hold of my hubby’s hand & yes, he was frozen with fear.
