TOC understands that the police have arrested some participants of the solidarity event at Hong Lim Park on Wednesday evening. Sources have informed TOC that 6 or maybe more individuals were arrested by the police after the event has concluded. TOC has approached the police for further information but was advised that such information is confidential.

I feel that Hong Lim Park is currently underutilised, apart from occasional events held by civil activists. It should henceforth be designated a permanent site for any future celebrations of national or independence days by foreigners residing here. I remember that the Philippine Independence Day was celebrated last year at Hong Lim Park.
