SLA SETS NEW TIMING FOR FOOTBALL ACADEMY, KIDS CAN PLAY AGAIN

Previously, due to complaints from the residents in the area about the noise generated by users of the facility since last year, SLA had ordered Nome United to close down their Youth Academy, while they decide on the new operating hours. After agreement from both SLA and Home United, HUFC may conduct youth training activities on the two football pitches from 7pm to 9pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. On weekends, Home may operate the football pitches from 9am to 6pm on Saturdays, and from 4pm to 7pm on Sundays, for training and community engagement programmes organised by the the club. These are in addition to the current operating hours of 9am to 7pm on weekdays, for which public bookings are allowed.

They were one of the title contenders pre-season, but endured a terrible start when they went winless in their first four games and dropped 10 points in the process, effectively killing their title hopes before they could even start to dream. But once they got into the groove, once they kickstarted their campaign with their first win, a 4-1 cakewalk over Garena Young Lions despite conceding the opener, they are now one of the form teams outside of the seemingly unstoppable league leaders Albirex Niigata.

Twenty minutes into the match, and there was still a long line for tickets outside Bishan Stadium. Half an hour after the game between Home United and Tampines Rovers, there was still a queue of cars on a single lane waiting to exit. And it goes to show that the best way to put bums on seats at the stadiums is not free potato chips but pedigree. The two great goals were definitely worth the price of the match ticket and the two scorers in an almost tempestuous match have played at the highest level, in addition to 12 Singaporeans who have been capped at the senior level.
