According to reports, the man behind the Standard Chartered robbery is 26 year old David James Roach, a Canadian. The first time visitor to Singapore had robbed the Holland Village branch of S$30,000 on 7 July. He left Singapore for Bangkok on the same day. The suspect was arrested on Sunday (10 Jul) at a backpackers hostel in Bangkok's Pratunam district. According to a source from Interpol Bangkok, Roach has been to Thailand many times.

The ongoing police investigation of the robbery at Standard Chartered Bank at Holland Village has uncovered an important piece of evidence - a Gatorade bottle which the suspect had drank from. Investigators have retrieved a Gatorade bottle from a rubbish bin that was within 5 meters of the bank. It is believed that the suspect was observing the activities of the bank from the outside while sipping his Gatorade drink before he finally threw the bottle into the rubbish bin.

I was there this morning in this bank branch to do my banking business from 10.30am to about 11.40am. After finishing I came down to the 1st floor to collect the receipt. The bank staff on the ground floor told me to wait and a short while later she told me the banking system was down and could not generate the receipt. While I was waiting for the receipt in the waiting area, a skinny ang moh kia about 6+ ft tall came in and sat beside me. He was called to the counter and then left hurriedly.

A Standard Chartered bank branch at Holland Village was shut on Thursday afternoon after a suspected bank robbery. The area has been cordoned off and police personnel were spotted inside the bank. According to eyewitnesses, the suspect is an Ang Moh man wearing a cap.

This elderly taxi uncle was attacked by 5 Indian gangsters at Holland Village taxi stand. As he alighted, he was attacked even as he lay on the ground unable to move. 2 European man tried to help him but was threaten by the Indian gangsters.
