You know wayang has come to a new low when you see an MP using paid work hours to cut ribbon for a TEMPORARY bus stop then posting the whole affair on Facebook. How come there was no ribbon-cutting ceremony for any temporary bus interchange, temporary hawker centre, temporary carpark or temporary toilet all these years in Singapore?

When Malaysia announced its lockdown in March, Singaporeans rushed to supermarkets to stock up on eggs and shelves were empty in no time. Prices of eggs started to increase slightly due to border restrictions. Fast forward 3 months, Malaysia is out of lockdown and has resumed their supply. Eggs are flowing into Singapore from Malaysia, Thailand, Australia, New Zealand and recently Poland. At the same time, demand from F&B dropped. As a result, egg suppliers find themselves having too many eggs, some having to discard as many as 250k eggs.

On Saturday, for the first time in years, Mr Lim Chin Ting, 74, sat comfortably on the sofa in his living room. The stench and heaps of junk around him were mostly gone, thanks to a team of 10 people from the HDB and Marine Parade Town Council who went there on Saturday to help him clear the mess. Starting at about 10.30am, the group spent eight hours clearing out some of the clutter in the three-room flat at Eunos Crescent, Chinese evening daily Lianhe Wanbao reported.
