COMMUTER WITH NO MONEY IN EZ-LINK SAVED BY MRT STAFF WHO LENT HIM $10 WITHOUT HESITATION

This was a few months ago. I was going home from Kent Ridge and realized my ez link had insufficient value. I didn't have any cash and it was a nightmare. So I approached a smrt staff member and he gladly lent me 10 dollars to top up my card. I wanted to give him my name and phone number so I can return the money next day and he said no need, I could come back later if I'm busy. I wanted to thank him in person but he wasn't on duty. It was the most heart warming thing I've ever experienced in Singapore.

SINGAPORE’S ELDERLY WORKING POOR REFLECTS WHAT A SHAMEFUL NATION WE ARE

The further danger, said Dr Ng, is that such rigorous means-testing would “discourage others who might actually qualify if they tried”. Ms Wong Yock Leng, a senior social worker with Tsao Foundation, said: “When you ask for ComCare assistance, they will check for everything… That’s why a lot of people don’t apply anymore after that. It’s so daunting, the whole process.”The shame of a 1st world nation?

LITTLE MARIA NEEDS OUR HELP TO FIGHT CANCER

A little child called Maria is desperately reaching out for our help. She's from a small village in Indonesia and was orphaned at a very tender age 6 months ago (she's only 10 years old)! Her FUTURE and only HOPE depends on us to raise enough funds for her to get proper medical treatment for the "lump" at the side of her neck. Maria constantly complains of fever and pain to her family but there was little they could do as they have limited funds. Her family consists of an aunt who is the sole bread winner in the family.

WHY DIDN’T ANYONE STOP TO HELP RIDER INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT?

So I was on my way to work this morning around 0740hrs when I passed by this accident which probably just took place like 1-2 mins ago. I immediately stopped & went to assist the rider who was lying by the side of the road. The rider was still conscious but was bleeding and in pain. There was another Malay rider who was there to assist the victim but left shortly after I arrived. The ambulance was still on the way at this point of time. What disappoints me is that throughout this period whoever drove past didn't stop to assist the victim or render any form of assistance. Yes, it's the morning peak hours but does one life worth so little?

APPEAL FOR FATAL ACCIDENT FOOTAGE FOR TRAFFIC JUNCTION AT JURONG WEST RAMADAN BAZAAR

Dear friends, last night (7 june 2016) a fatal accident happened at Jurong west ave 1 at the taffic junction in front of Jurong west Ramadan Baazar at around 9pm. It involve a dark grey Merc driven by a middle age chinese driver and a young malay female (decease) who is just a day shy of 21year of age. (BIRTHDAY ON 8 JUNE). I and my younger brother was one of the first few stall holder who rush forward upon seeing the accident as it happened just in font of my stall. No words can descripe the scene which i saw. The decease is one of a stall assistance at the baazar and was crossing at the taffic junction was she was struck down. She had a widowed wheel chaired bound mother and was the the pillar of strength for the family. A number of eye witnesses had gone forward to give their statements but now the problem is the driver claim he doesn't remember the details and futher more it happen at a traffic light juction crossing. Even his car cam was missing . So alot of twisting and turning coz a lot of us heard the loud noise when he mount the center divider at a very high speed and thus our statement only reflect that. I sincerely appeal to my friends to please shared this post as more evidence and eye witness can come forward. Better if someone who had an in car -cam footage of the accident or someone who was there at that time and saw the whole accident can come forward and bring some justice for the innocent deceased and family.
