5 residents broke down the metal doors to a Housing & Development Board (HDB) flat at Block 4, Haig Road last Saturday to save 2 children who were trapped at home when a fire broke out in their unit.

A netizen was waiting for his girlfriend at the void deck of a Housing & Development Board (HDB) flat. When his girlfriend came out of her house, she was almost struck by falling rubbish thrown from one of the units above his flat!

Residents at a condominium in Punggol, A Treasure Trove, have been locked in a dispute with their neighboring Housing & Development Board (HDB) flats for over 3 years, all because of the smells and smoke that get emitted from their BBQ pits which are just 15 metres away from the nearest HDB flats.

The Court foreclosed M Ravi's HDB flat even though he was too ill to appear in court. Despite having the relevant medical documents to prove his ill health, the court did not relent. Our reader is asking for Singaporeans to donate to M Ravi who may become homeless when he gets discharged. After all, he has always been fighting for people's rights and was never concerned about funding for himself.

The Housing & Development Board has responded to a forum letter asking whether Singaporeans are truly home owners or just tenants in their own "homes".

I'm a single gay in my early 20s, I've always wanted to own a home as I don't get along with my family members and have been renting rooms to live. HDB allows only singles who are at least 35 to buy a HDB. I did a calculation, If I spend roughly $10000 a year renting until I'm 35, I would have spent at least 120K on renting, which is enough to buy me 1/2 of a HDB or 1/3 of a HDB flat. I did jobs help here and there and managed to save up a home fund of about 100K. Which is enough for a HDB down payment. Yet I'm homeless. I feel like crying. They really discriminate singles and gays.
