HDB BUILDING QUALITY IS BETTER NOW, SAYS BCA

According to the Building and Construction Authority of Sigapore (BCA), construction quality for newly built Housing Development Board (HDB) flats has improved over the years. Assessors from the BCA, who conduct inspections on different corners of the flat such as the quality of the home, its workmanship and whether it is safe to live in, use a scored checklist under the Construction Quality Assessment System (Conquas), which reflects the overall workmanship quality. The higher the Conquas score, which is upon 100, the better the workmanship.

HDB FOUND NO UNSAFE WORK PRACTICES AS DESCRIBED BY CRANE OPERATOR

In a statement posted on a Housing Development Board (HDB) website yesterday, HDB has refuted allegations by a tower crane operator that unsafe practices were occurring at a Punggol construction site. In a previous article on 3rd August, a Singaporean crane operator had exposed unsafe work practices online after he observed water being added to the cement mix on-site, which he said was not the proper method and would endanger the lives of the people who lived in such buildings.

WHY NO ACTION ON COCKROACH INFESTATION AT BEDOK NORTH BLK 217?

A Stomper going by the name of Nicholas submitted his story to news outlet Stomp today about a nasty cockroach infestation at a Housing Development Board block in Bedok North. According to this stomper, the cockroaches literally line the floor of the place (pictures above) and he suspects that there is probably a cockroach nest in the area.

TAMPINES TOWN COUNCIL ALL TALK NO ACTION IN SOLVING HDB FLOODING PROBLEM

The corridors and pipes outside my apartment has been constantly flooded when it rains. The water level is at least ankle deep and there is a possibility that the water may seep in to my house. Have tried contacting Town Council many times, explaining to them the issue. Every time, they claimed that they will look into the issue, but nothing is ever done.

HELP! MY NEIGHBOR’S NO-PERMIT RENOVATION IS DISTURBING US!

They had permit, for period between 1x Nov 2014 to 1x Dec 2014. That is the only HDB reno permit that I ever saw outside their unit. From then until now, many things happened, like they complained my toilet leaked, got to get my own contractor to settle. It was around May that still not settled.
