What is not mentioned is that EM Services are 75% owned by the HDB, and 25% by Keppel, effectively making EM Services a HDB and government-owned company. It would appear that a HDB-owned company essentially denied lift parts to other lift maintenance companies that serviced HDB lifts. Would it not be plausible that after a spate of very public lift accidents, EM Services decided to change course to supply spare parts as a result of public concern about lift safety?

GOVT CARPARK PROFITS SKYROCKET TO MORE THAN $700 MILLION AFTER 20% HIKE?

According to an article in allsingaporestuff.com – the net car parking profits (income less expenses) of the HDB and URA was $575.7 million for FY14/15. With the subject increase of about 20 per cent – does it mean that the profits may increase to about $690 million ($575.7 x 120%)? As the car park charges increase is up to 40 per cent – perhaps the profits may be over $700 million.

LOW INCOME SINGLE MUM DEPRESSED AFTER HDB RENT HIKE, HOPES PM LEE WILL SAVE HER

Yesterday (27/06/2016), I received a telephone call from the HDB Branch Office and I almost had a heart attack when the HDB Officer told me that with effect 1st August 2016 my monthly HDB rental will be increased to $ 322/- which is 200% more increase. Ever since then I became very depressed and couldn't eat or sleep worrying how to make ends meet as I am no longer young and healthy to do overtime everyday.

HDB EARNED $595 MILLION CARPARK INCOME IN 2015 SO WHY STILL INCREASE RATES?

After writing “Public parking rates increase = more profits?” (Jun 22), I looked at the HDB’s financial statements and found that its income from car parks for the year ended 31 March 2015, was $595.2 million. The combined income from car parks of the HDB and URA may be well over $600 million a year. Given this large sum – what is the justification for wanting to increase public car parking rates?

HDB KICKS MAN & PREGNANT WIFE OUT OF RENTAL FLAT, NO RECOURSE GIVEN

Please see the attached eviction letter from HDB. I rented a unit from HDB, and have been paying my rental promptly, but I was kicked out by the heartless HDB due to some ridiculous unfair one-sided vague clause. I was not given any opportunity to clarify,to defend and to mediate on my case. My whole family have been kicked out, and now my toddler and my heavily pregnant wife have no place to stay.
