A Facebook user shared his personal experience on a new scam tactic. He recounted how his SingTel mobile number was strangely terminated without his consent, and this was due to a hacker trying to takeover his number. These hackers were using a scam called SimSwap.

The National University of Singapore has been hit with fresh cyber attacks, which have compromised the computers of more than 2 employees, including one who was working on a Ministry of Defence funded project.

At 9.05AM today, an internet forummer posted a photo of CTC Travel website, which had allegedly been hacked by a group known as Anonymous Arabe. CTC is a popular local travel agency.

You can see quite clearly the statement I quote, "The incident with the armoured troop carriers “adds to the suspicion” that Singapore is working against the “one China” principle, said the commentary, which threatened punitive measures that would “profoundly impact Singapore’s economy”.

These few days someone else unknown kept using my debit card to purchase online games. I suspected someone had hacked into my Debit card account. As the amount being embezzled illegally from my debit card kept on balling and now already balled to sum of SGD 400plus dollars. And I am not guaranteed that this transaction will be stopped yet as the DBS bank just blocked my card on 14 Oct.

Turkish-based hacker group "Ayyildiz Tim" hacked local car dealer Eurokars Group's Mazda website yesterday, raising fears that details of members and users of the website have been comprosied. Eurokars has defended the security of its customer data collected via the website.

Cheating spouses who use the extramarital affair web portal Ashley Madison now have reason to be worried - according to a hacking team, who go by the name "The Impact Team", Ashley Madison has been hacked and now 37 million users' financial records and data are at its disposal.

Hackers breached and defaced the website of the Credit Bureau Singapore (CBS), which was forced to put up a notice on its website yesterday announcing that it has "temporarily shut down its online service for consumers to purchase a copy of their credit report".

Popular internet services were down this morning including Facebook and Instagram. Hacker group The Lizard Squad took credit for the outage. Netizens in turn use Twitter to complain about the downtime but it seems that Twitter experienced problems itself.
