OPPOSITION VETERAN SPECULATES TAN CHUAN JIN WAS DEMOTED DUE TO POOR POLITICAL ACUMEN

This is especially so for any contender of the Prime Ministership. If you are vying to be the PM of Singapore, then learn from past PMs and keep religion out of the way. But TCJ, as one of the contender of PMship, has repeatedly express his religious affiliation openly on his FB. It is not a politically wise thing to do at all. Even for this latest posting about his "New Posting" aka "Demotion", he expresses his religious affiliation within that posting! Thus, in my opinion, even though I don't think TCJ should be demoted to be Speaker of Parliament, but his total lack of political sensitivity and acumen would have ruled him out from the race of Prime Ministership.

GOH MENG SENG SLAMS THOSE WHO URGE HIM TO STOP FLAMING WP FOR OPPOSITION UNITY SAKES

Many people, both opposition supporters and middle ground voters have told me to stop criticizing WP for the sake of Opposition Unity or Opposition family.
I would be no better than PM Lee when he said he will not sue LHY because he is his brother! Ironically, it was LTK who urged him to sue! What a bloody irony! I shall not criticize anyone for the bad deeds just because he is my brother, sister or opposition camp politician?

GOH MENG SENG: JOIN US & SUPPORT TAN CHENG BOCK'S CONSTITUTIONAL CHALLENGE!

Lim Tean, Tan Kin Lian, Syafarin Sarif and I had started the initiative to publish a Non-Partisan Joint Statement in support of Dr Tan Cheng Bock's challenge of the Constitutional change to enforce Reserved Elected Presidency based on dubious grounds.

We have come together as a group of concerned Singaporeans, from diverse walks in life and from a wide political spectrum, to ask Singaporeans to stand up and to protect our Constitution from constant manipulation by the PAP government to suit their selfish political needs.

We are pleased to note that Dr Tan Cheng Bock has mounted a judicial challenge to the constitutionality of the next Presidential Election being a reserved election. Even if it is now the law that there must be a reserved election for a particular racial group if no one from that group has been President after 5 continuous terms, it is clear to everyone of us that only the Presidential election of 2023 need be a reserved election. The next Presidential election in September this year should be an open election as there have been only 4 elected Presidents since the Elected Presidency scheme came into effect, with Mr Ong Teng Cheong being our first elected President. We do not know of any ordinary Singaporean who has taken an opposing view.

Since the PAP Government insists that the upcoming Presidential election is a reserved election under the Presidential Elections (Amendment) Act 2017, the burden was on them to explain to the Singapore people the basis of their decision. It was incumbent upon them to produce the advice which they said they had obtained from the Attorney-General, which formed the basis of their decision. This is no different to a judge having to give his reasons for a decision made by him. It was important for the Government to have made known the reasoning behind the Attorney-General’s advice because the Attorney-General’s advice does not constitute the law of the land and is open to challenge by way of Judicial Review.

WHY DID 154 MEDIA CENSOR OFF PAP MINISTER'S GOOD DEMOCRATIC QUOTE?

Some oversensitive and guilty conscience buggers are too quick to censor off one of the BEST quote from PAP Minister. I think this is one good Quotable Quote because it basically says it all about why Democracy and Separation of Powers are so important for a consistent functional modern governance.... It is precisely because we will not get "Angles" in power all the time, that is why we need a system which could provide REAL checks and balances, as well as a mechanism that could kick out unscrupulous rulers or the ruling elites if they turned crooks!

LEADING OPPOSITIONL FIGURE: FOR PM LEE'S IDIOCY, S'POREANS HAVE TO SUFFER CHINA'S WRATH

If Singapore succumbs to China's pressure and cut military ties with Taiwan, our international standing will be cut down into sizes. We will lose the international reputation which was painstakingly built up over the decades. If Singapore resisted and continued our military exercises in Taiwan, Beijing will have more excuses to escalate the issue and our National interests in China will be totally compromised by Beijing, using that "Rule of Law" discourse, all thanks to our PM Lee. Now we are forced to select between a disgraceful suicide or a heroic total self destruction.

GOH MENG SENG: WORKERS PARTY'S INCOMPETENCE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OTHER OPPOSITION PARTIES

Many people, especially the middle ground opposition leaning fence sitters, have expressed great disappointment over WP's AHTC saga. They are disillusioned with opposition due to WP's at best, pure incompetency, or at worst, corrupted governance practices. I have to reiterate that whatever flaws or incompetency WP had, has absolutely nothing to do with other opposition parties.
