The office of President Tony Tan Keng Yam has released the Writ of Elections at 4PM today, in which he declared that nominations for political candidates would be held on 1st September. In the same hour, the Elections Department of Singapore also released its Press Release on General Elections 2015, which confirmed that polling day would be held on 11th September.

According to a Facebook post by Singapore People's Party candidate Jeannette Chong-Aruldoss, the SPP will be holding a mega-picnic event at Wilkinson Interim Park today (23rd August) between 5 to 7PM with free food and refreshments for picnic-goers. Ms Chong-Aruldoss will be representing the SPP in Mountbatten Single Member Constituency (SMC). Ms Chong was formerly an National Solidarity Party (NSP) secretary-general before she quit earlier this year and joined the Singapore People's Party under SPP's Mr Chiam See Tong and his wife, Mrs Lina Chiam.

The People’s Action Party (PAP) officially introduced today its slate of candidates for the Holland-Bukit Timah Group Representation Constituency (GRC) for the upcoming General Elections (GE). The team remains unchanged from the time that they contested GE 2011 - they are: Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, Mr Christopher de Souza, Mr Liang Eng Hwa and Ms Sim Ann. They had won 60.08 per cent of the vote against the Singapore Democratic Party (SDP) team of Ang Yong Guan, Michelle Lee, Tan Jee Say and Vincent Wijeysingha in 2011.

The People’s Action Party (PAP) on Saturday (Aug 22) officially unveiled its candidates for the Pasir Ris-Punggol Group Representation Constituency (GRC) for the upcoming General Elections (GE) today. The newest members of the six-man GRC team are 47 year-old Mr Ng Chee Meng, formerly the Chief of Defence Force, and 36 year-old Ms Sun Xueling, an investment director with Temasek Holdings.
