S’POREANS ARE WORLD’S BIGGEST GAMBLERS BECAUSE WE SEE NO HOPE IN OUR FUTURE?

Anyway, my take is that a lot of people gamble because it is the only “hope” for them. They see no “hope” in their jobs in the future. As they get older, their wages start to fall and they also fear losing their jobs (retirement study commissioned by the Ministry of Manpower). They see no “hope” in their lifestyle in the future, as the cost of living keeps rising (most expensive city in the world, The Economist).

CHRISTIAN LEADERS CALL FOR GAMBLING BAN BUT LET KONG HEE GO SCOTT FREE

My family is in chaos and Kong Hee's City Harvest cult is to blame! Our family is not well to do and my mother is ill but my sister choose to donate her money to CHC church instead of helping with family expenses and my mom's medical treatment. Why is nobody putting a stop to these mega churches which suck money from their followers with promises of wealth and prosperity? Why did the National Council of Churches (NCCS) stay silent and refused to take action against such churches and their malpractices? You have church leaders living in Sentosa Cove and Beverly Hills, earning millions and this is not a problem to solve?

WORKER’S PARTY DEMANDS PAP GOVT TO BAN ONLINE GAMBLING TO PROTECT S’POREANS

The Workers’ Party notes with concern the applications from Singapore Pools and Singapore Turf Club (STC) to launch online betting services. We oppose the granting of exemptions to any organisation to operate remote and online betting services and we call on the government to reject these applications.

SHOULD I BREAK UP WITH FIANCE OVER HIS ONLINE GAMBLING HABIT?

My husband-to-be is an addictive gambler, help me. Normally he bets on 4D, ToTo, but it's not a small amount. One bet can be up to $50. This is really frustrating as we're getting married soon but he doesn't seems like he has a lot of savings, which we desperately need... Recently he even started asking money from me, from small amount like $10 to $100 now.

SERIAL CHEAT BORROWS MONEY WITHOUT RETURNING TO FUEL GAMBLING HABIT

This guy by the name of Quentin Chong Ye Jie (S873xxx9A) believed to be staying at Tanglin Halt borrowed money(Total of $3000) from my nephew in the mid 2015 and had promised to return it by 3 months installment. Obviously he has no intention of paying back what he has borrowed. My Nephew is not the first victim. Mr. Chong had approached few of his ex-colleagues from his previous work place(local bank) and some of them even took a bank loan to help him and landed themselves in debts too.

S’PORE POLICE INCAPABLE OF DEALING WITH ILLEGAL GAMBLING DENS IN GEYLANG

Just got back and found gambling dens on the street. CCTVs here seem to function as mere placebos. Called up the nearest NPC and officer who picked up the call has the audacity to inform me the CCTVs are monitored without any hesitation. I called the police again and when I brought up the issue of gambling dens and they were still on the street, the officer reasoned they couldn't respond promptly as there were many 'public gaming' activities going on at the same time in Geylang.
