As a fan of online shopping, I used to pride myself in being extremely vigilant of suspicious scam sites or attempting any seemingly fraudulent online transactions. Usually making online payments only through Paypal and hardly ever revealing credit card details. Right. NEVER say NEVER. I'm still in shock that during a recent unfortunate evening, I had lapsed in my judgement of an extremely legit looking website from the UK and let's just say it was part of a huge scam SYNDICATE from CHINA and I'm never gonna get my money back. Bastards. ‪#‎screwyoujcappoc‬ ‪#‎criminals‬ For me, it was jcappoc.com (http://jcappoc.com/) which they have since deleted ) And they have many other websites hiding behind addresses from the UK, Denmark, US, German, Australia and New Zealand. They sell all sorts of things : Pandora jewellery, Nike shoes, etc. Things that unsuspecting buyers would want. Once the money goes to a ZLT Trading Technology, Beijing, China, it can never be credited back to your account. They shut down the site swiftly and start another. And there's NO ONE in the world who can stop them. ‪#‎isthereaworldinternetpolice‬ ?

Our reader recently received a WhatsApp message from an unknown number, which asked her to log on to a third party website and submit her IC number to confirm her eligibility for GST vouchers.

I have been working with Aspect Security Management Pte Ltd for the past 5 months as a relief guard. My boss name is Mr TAJUDIN. Even though I was a relief guard, I was required to work everyday from 7am to 7pm Monday to Sunday. Sometimes, I was even required to work night shift due to lack of manpower. Initially, I was given daily pay by the end of the day. Then, he changed the pay days where I was paid every 2- 3 days once. Now, I have not received my pay since the 4th of January. He owes me $910. Each time I callhim, he either does not answer my calls or keeps telling me that he will call me back. From what I have heard, none of his employees and relief guards have received their pay yet.

I am posting this today to share my incident and create public awareness so as there will not be anymore victim. This con-man CHRIS TAN WEE CHEE S8817749E came to propose a contract to me in cooperate with HDB (HOUSING AND DEVELOPMENT BOARD). He proclaim he was awarded by HDB with the exclusive right of a upcoming project on 3G SMART HOME SECURITY. To get that done, he need investor and that's when I was called upon. What we are talking about is a $200,000 Cash investment to pump into the company known as "UMP TECHNOLOGY PTE LTD" With guaranteed cash-back after a year and following year with the profit. Sounds like a good deal?

A naive friend of mine was scammed of almost close to $700 online by this fella who seems to still be a NSF. The only thing my friend had of him was his handphone number as the scammer claimed that he could not run when his HP is known. He had at the beginning even promised to pay interest as he could not pay upfront and dragged payment for a week while totally avoiding my friend before blocking my friend.

When I tell my CG leader that I am stressed out, they can't do anything much and my mum tells them that I have anxiety issues, not realising that CHC and she coercing me to go are the cause of it. I even have a psychiatrist letter proving I have that condition. My mother however has it worse. Since attending CHC, she became very paranoid and very anxious. Anything that does not go her way smoothly, she will make the ridiculous claim that the Devil is acting against her, like having a minor car accident etc. Sometimes when she presses the wrong number on her mobile, she would blame the Devil for it. She keeps worrying about things and scolds me for being anxious when she in fact, is anxious herself!

With the City Harvest Church trial over, culminating with the conviction and sentencing of the six church leaders, it seems pertinent to ask if former church members and organisations that have donated substantially to the church have any legal recourse for recovering their donations. After all, it is now clear that donations have been misused for purposes different from the donors’ intentions. In the spirit of maintaining public trust and confidence in charities, I hope the Commissioner of Charities can look into this issue and provide an avenue for the former church members and donors to claim back their monies.
