11 hurt in scaffolding collapse at Sentosa

Eleven workers were hurt in a scaffolding collapse accident at a construction site on Sentosa today (Jan 29). The Singapore Civil Defense Force (SCDF) said they received a call for assistance at 3.19 pm this afternoon. One fire engine, one Red Rhino, 6 ambulances and 5 support vehicles were dispatched to the accident site at Palawan Beach in Sentosa.

More nationality-based prejudice, IPS survey finds

There is a growing discomfort across nationalities, even as comfort levels across race and religion appear to have largely remained the same, a survey has found. Some 32.1 per cent of Singaporeans surveyed felt that prejudice based on nationality has become more widespread now compared to five years ago, and this is more so than the increase in other types of prejudices such as race, age or religion.
