MAN UNCOMFORTABLE SEEING BURMESE DOCTOR AT TAMPINES POLYCLINIC, REQUESTS FOR LOCAL DOCTOR INSTEAD

Brought my mum for her checkup at tampines polyclinic. After the pre-consultation procedure, went up 2nd level to see doctor. When we came upon the room, i notice the doctor that my mum is see is a burmese. Not wanting to take chance of risking my mum's life and well-being to some foreign "uncertified doctor" from burma, i jitao went down to the counter and ask to change to a local doctor.

FOREIGN IMH DOCTOR REFUSES TO RELEASE PATIENT FOR CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION WITH AGING MOTHER

A reader has shared a blog post by blogger Ray Hope, who wrote about his family's unhappiness with an Institute of Mental Health (IMH) doctor who refuses to release his twin brother from IMH to spend time with his family for Christmas. He says that his brother's condition has stabilized, after being admitted to IMH 3 months ago, and the expensive hospitalization bills are eating away at what little Medisave his brother has left. Being a Catholic family, the blogger also hopes that his brother could celebrate the Advent with his aging 92 year-old mother, who has not been informed that her son was warded in IMH.

DO S'POREANS HAVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE TREATMENT BY INCOMPETENT FOREIGN DOCTORS?

I was in SGH to see a bone & nerve specialist. I was attended by two junior doctors one of whom is a local and the other, obviously, a trainee FT from India. While the local doctor asked related questions to understand my complaints, the FT kept quiet most of the time but when he spoke, it was irrelevant questions! I fear that such doctors when phased in spells disasters if not, bad choice of Singaporeans looking for a medical cure.
