The crux of this issue is again the appointment of FM Solutions and Services (FMSS) as AHPETC's managing agent. The town council, now managed by the PAP, has said that they will study the troubling report, and will seek legal advice on how to proceed. We await the latest development in this saga, as it does seem that this will not go away any time soon. If there is any wrongdoing, then make a police report and let the proper authorities handle this. If there are no wrongdoing, then we should all just move on and stop bringing this matter up every few months, as if to remind everyone that opposition managed wards are not up to scratch. Surely this is not the case, right?

Local news outlet The New Paper reported on Monday morning that AHPETC's former managing agent FMSS has sent a letter of demand to the town council over $3.5 million in unpaid monies. According to TNP, FMSS sent the letter dated 20 July 2015 through its lawyers Netto and Magin. The demanded payment of $3.5 million was supposedly for money owed for services between April and July 2014 when its contract with AHPETC was terminated.

The Ministry of National Development announced on Saturday that AHPETC's managing agent, FM Solutions and Services (FMSS) has been "profiteering" off the town council. MND claims that after a review of FMSS's auditor, Teo Liang Chye and Co, when AHPETC suffered an operating deficit of $2 million dollars, FMSS made an after-tax profit of $2 million after paying its directors $1.14 million.

The fees paid by Aljunied Town Council to Managing Agent FM Solutions and Services (FMSS) in 2011 were 20 per cent higher than the fees paid the year before to CPG, the previous MA, Mr Khaw Boon Wan said on Thursday (Mar 5). And the difference paid by Aljunied-Hougang-Punggol East Town Council (AHPETC) to FMSS compared to what other town councils pay their MAs has grown, to an estimated difference of S$1.6 million a year, he said.
