A reader came across a post that horrified him. He was browsing through his Facebook list when he saw this post. A Facebook friend had bought a packet of frozen cod fish from an undisclosed supermarket, only to discover that the frozen meat had an undigested red worm inside.

We bought a piece of fish from the fish monger near our place for dinner tonight, it's an usual routine... What was unusual was that while we were eating the fish, I noticed few peculiar holes within the flesh of the fish and in it I pulled out like 4-5 worm like parasites... Disgusted! To make matters worse, the kids actually ate first and I only came to noticed this when it was my turn to eat.. I think we should all be more alert and careful about what goes into our mouths...

Hundreds of fishes were found belly up and giving off a foul stench this morning at Bishan-Ang Mo Kio park today after residents reportedly complained of the stench that could be smelt from as far as the main roads surrounding the park.

Animal lovers please beware! Next time before you throw some food scraps to wild monkeys, pigeons or even fish, look out if others are watching. There may be NPark plainclothes enforcement officer waiting in the bushes. If you have no spare money to burn, better watch out. You can be fine minimum $500 for this offence.

The media reported that an estimated six tonnes of wild and cultured fish were found dead along the Straits of Johor in the past four days. This is not as huge as the 600 tonnes of fish that AVA estimates died on Singapore farms in East Johor Strait. Please help me monitor dead fishes washing up on the Johor Straits. Please let me know if you see large numbers (more than 10) especially of large dead fishes (more than 20cm long) washing up on the northern shores such as Pulau Ubin, Lim Chu Kang, Sungei Buloh, Kranji, Woodlands Waterfront, Sembawang, Punggol, Lorong Halus, Pasir Ris, Changi.

The restaurant owners defended their pricing yesterday (21 Aug). They say that the prices are a result of the area’s high rents, which have almost doubled in the last five years. At Harvest Seafood Restaurant, live sea bass is sold for $7 per 100g. At Fuqing Marina Bay Seafood Restaurant and Haven Lobster & Seafood Restaurant, it costs $9 per 100g, while two outlets run by Forum Seafood Village charge $9.80 per 100g.

The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) yesterday laid out how it is assisting fish farmers affected by the mass die-offs earlier this month to re-stock their farms. The AVA will source for and facilitate the bulk purchase of quality fish fry and fingerlings, said a National Development Ministry spokesperson last night. In addition, the AVA will co-fund 70 per cent of the cost of the fry and fingerlings, with farmers paying the rest.
