SCDF PUTS OUT DEEP SEATED FIRE AT TUAS BARGE, 1 OFFICER INJURED

Yesterday, the SCDF dispatched 3 fire engines, 3 Red Rhinos, 2 firebikes, 1 ambulance, 1 Unmanned Firefighting Machine, 6 support vehicles and 2 Marine Firefighting Vessels for a fire involving a barge at berth in Sembcorp Marine Tuas Boulevard Yard. Approximately 70 SCDF personnel are involved in this operation.

SCDF TO SPEND MONEY ON LIFE-LIKE MANIKINS FOR TRAINING

The SCDF wants to introduce lifelike figures that can bleed, suffer bruises, and even shout for help, and yet are tough enough to withstand the rigours of smoke and fire, into the training of paramedics and firefighters. SCDF is calling for proposals to design “intelligent rescue manikins” that mimic human features and responses to crises and can interact with responders so as to simulate realistic training scenarios for emergency responders
