41 Year Old Man Became SG’s First PMD Fire Fatality

The Bukit Batok fire that took place on Thursday night at an HDB unit has claimed a life. 41 year old Mr Goh Keng Soon, who was initially rescued by SCDF officers when the fire broke out in his flat, succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning. Doctors Without Borders (MSF) said the crisis gripping Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone would only get worse and warned there was no overarching strategy to handle the world's worst-ever outbreak of the disease. The US Peace Corps announced it was pulling dozens of volunteers from the three countries.
