Employers have always been told to treat their FDW well but during this holy month of Ramadan it is very surprising to see employers not being very open to their muslim FDWs keeping a fast.

ROAST PORK SMELL FROM TEMPLE DINNER TOO UNBEARABLE FOR FASTING HDB RESIDENT

A Singaporean man named Sazali (https://www.facebook.com/Sazali10) ranted on his Facebook after food smells from a Chinese temple became too unbearable for him and his family. He spotted the food caterer for the temple dinner roasting BBQ pork at the HDB common areas under the kitchen windows where his clothes were hung out to dry. Despite shutting his windows tight, the smell became too unbearable for him to break fast properly during this month of Ramadan.

Why is it that many Muslims in Mesia nowadays demand to be "respected" just because they are fasting? Why the need to close school canteens during Ramadhan? PAP MINISTER FASTS FOR ONE DAY, GETS FLAMED BY NETIZENS

PAP minister Khaw Boon Wan and 50 non-Muslim MPs and grassroots activists joined Muslims yesterday in fasting for one full day. "I was told to get up at 4.30 to prepare breakfast. So last night, I didn't sleep well,” said National Development Minister Khaw Boon Wan, who is also MP for Sembawang GRC. “So I got up at 3.30. So I said 3.30, okay lah. So I go down at 3.30. I ate my breakfast and I have not eaten since 3.30."

CHINA CURBS RAMADAN FASTING IN XINJIANG

Chinese authorities in the northwestern province of Xinjiang have banned Muslim officials and students from fasting during the month of Ramadan, prompting an exiled rights group to warn of new violence. Guidance posted on numerous government websites called on Communist Party leaders to restrict Muslim religious activities during the holy month, including fasting and visiting mosques. Xinjiang is home to about nine million Uighurs, largely a Muslim ethnic minority, many of whom accuse China's leaders of religious and political persecution.
