ICA WARNS OF FAKE NEWS FUEL SCANNERS, PHOTOS ARE OF AUTO CLEARANCE SYSTEMS

The Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) refers to recent online discussions of photographs of “a fuel tank scanner” at Tuas and Woodlands checkpoints. In response to media queries, ICA would like to clarify that the photograph below shows a prototype of an Automated Passenger In-Car Clearance System, and is not a “fuel tank scanner”. The prototype is being developed to conduct trials for car travellers to perform automated immigration self-clearance using fingerprint verification. More details will be shared when available.

LTA: STRAITS TIMES FALSELY REPORTED ABOUT LRT COLLISION AT SENGKANG

Orh hor, the Straits Times anyhow report that two LRTs collided at Sengkang! In its clarification today, the Land Transport Authority explained that ST's article was "erroneous" and "misleading" as there was no collision on the LRT line. It said the two LRTs were actually coupled and travelling as one train when it suddenly stalled, causing passengers to lose their balance. LTA believed people may have gotten the wrong impression that the trailing train-car collided with the one in front. It assured the public that all passengers were alright as the staff manually drove them to another station safely.

AVA: EGGS SOLD AT ANG MO KIO COFFEESHOP ARE REAL

The Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore has posted a statement on its Facebook page to clarify that the eggs sold at an Ang Mo Kio coffeeshop are real. This follows reports of a Facebook video by one user, Jerome Junior, who accused the coffeeshop of selling fake synthetic eggs from China.

NEA SAID FINE FOR LEAVING USED TISSUE IN BOWLS FAKE NEWS

NEA is the latest agency to issue a statement, indicating that news about leaving used tissues in bowls or plates and then just leaving them there, and then be subsequently fined $200 for it is fake. NEA had never issued such directives, and indicated that there are no plans in place to fine such 'offenders'. While this is just fake news being spread around, making a mockery of NEA's supposed tough stance on littering, it is actually a good way to remind patrons at hawker centers that it is a good social behaviour to actually place used utensils in return trays.

I scrolled the pages of ChannelNewsAsia to read the CFE report. Nothing really fresh that I hadn't already read from online forums news feeds... however, scrolling all the way down the page, under the header YOU MAY ALSO LIKE is a link to an article on a 25yr old Joshua Wong, a self made Singaporean Millionaire buying a penthouse in Qatar. The article is written buy a Wong Buck Song. I tried googling both names and can't find any reference to support the story. Then again, this is on CNA, surely it cannot be FAKE NEWS!
