PARENTS PLEASE BEWARE OF UNQUALIFIED TUTORS AT LEXIS EDUCATION ASIA!

I would like to warn all against the Tuition Centre for Maths of the name: Lexis Education Asia. First their school fees are exorbitant and more importantly, they do not have compassion for students( nor for desperate parents) with poor results. Throughout the 7 months, their teachers ( yes I requested to change teacher) were young and not qualified. During a conversation striked with a temporary teacher whom I spoke to, he was covering for a friend in that centre and just finished polytechnic, no prior teaching experience at all. Another situation, one of the "qualified" male teacher actually taught my gal the wrong solution!

STUDENT: KAPLAN S’PORE IS A BLOODSUCKER EARNING OBSCENE PROFITS FROM ITS STUDENTS

Kaplan is a school that making huge profit from students. As a student myself, I don't see much student activities / programs unlike local universities & polytechnics. Ever since Kaplan is making so much money, they does not provide any bursaries / scholarships to students who did well or offer help to needy students. Sadly, they continue to increase school fees annually in their various courses. Students who fail their modules have to pay nearly S$2K to repeat a module. That's extremely costly! Many students might have failed many models, however, could Kaplan feel the pain that many low income students are going through to pay and pay to repeat the modules?

GRABCAR FARES GONE CRAZY: ANG MO KIO TO YISHUN NORTHPOINT COST $23

I gave been using Grabcar for months but I noticed over the last few weeks, the fare indicated via the app seems to have gone crazy and haywired. The most ridiculous instance was a trip from Ang Mo Kio to Yishun Northpoint, Grabcar wanted to charge me $23 for this short trip. With such pricing Grabcar doesn't seem like a good economical choice anymore. Taking the regular taxis or Uber would make more monetary sense.

HDB BTO COSTS 9% MORE THAN RESALE PRICE?

The lowest priced 5-room flat in Toa Payoh at $544,000 against the lowest transacted resale price at $500,000 gives a “subsidy” of -9 per cent ($544,000 divided by $500,000). In other words, the BTO price is 9 per cent more than the resale transacted price. So the “subsidy” may in a sense have become an extra “premium”.

‘GREEDY’ WOMAN BEGGING FOR FOOD IN POTONG PASIR CENTRAL

Last week I was having soya bean curd at Potong Pasir central when I was approached by a middle-aged lady. She asked if I could buy her a tuna puff and soya bean milk. I thought for a while then declined as I felt it was odd that she is so specific in asking what she wants. After the lady left the cafe, the shop helper told me that the lady always asks people to buy food for her. When they offer to buy her something simple like plain croissant, she doesn't want and would insist on having only the expensive items.
