Was the mass event by the PAP Women's Wing an "essential" event? Even our schools have suspended such large gatherings of children and students, and the cluster at SAFRA Jurong have proved that it is best not to hold such events at this time.

Singaporeans Hold Hong Lim Park Speeches & Gather Signatures Against Fake News Bill, But Will They Make A Difference?

Singaporeans have expressed concerns over the proposed fake news law. Some will be taking part in an event at Hong Lim Park today while others have signed a document calling for the withdrawal of the bill. Everytime there are new changes, Singaporeans voice displeasure through petitions, speeches and discussions. Have conversations worked? Will they work? If the elites do not start listening to what people have to say, it is time Singaporeans wake up themselves and make a choice that will let us all be heard.

FOREIGN ENTITIES APPEAL TO SUPPORT PINK DOT, OUTRIGHTLY REJECTED BY AUTHORITIES

A group of foreign companies such as Facebook, Google and Uber wrote in to Singapore authorities to ask for permission to support this year's Pink Dot but were unfortunately rejected. In their letter, the group of companies expressed support for inclusivity, diversity and in creating a safe space for their employees to work in. They understand Singapore has its own regulations and already suggested not to have their names listed or recognised as official sponsors. They also assured that no foreign representatives will speak at the event. However, our authorities still flat out rejected their application to support the event.

Instead of explaining why they rejected the application, the authorities reiterated that foreign entities must abide by our laws and not fund or support events that concern our domestic matters. Do you think this is necessary to make Pink Dot free from "foreign intervention"?

BEDOK CC TRIMMED BOTAK HEALTHY TREES JUST TO GIVE BETTER VIEW FOR SG50 EVENT

A row of beautiful trees were savagely trimmed on 15th July 2015 to give broader view of the kaleidoscope cloths put on the walls of the corridors for SG50 event. These trees provide shade to the blast of afternoon sun.Just for one event, how long will residents on the lower floors have to suffer the hot blast before the branches regrow to their past glory.Is there a need to trim these trees so drastically?
