COMPANY MAKES EMPLOYEE SIGN CONTRACT WITH CLAUSE AGAINST JOB-HOPPING

CIVIL SERVANT ANYHOW THROW USED CIGARETTE, SHOUTS AT PASSERBY WHEN TOLD OFF

T H Soon left the cigarette butts on the ledge of the corridor wall. I approached T H Soon and requested him to remove the cigarette butts. He was taken aback by my actions initially but later confronted me and ask who I was. I clarified my identity as a public visiting the school and was astonished by his loud rude reply. He scolded that as a public I do not have rights to interfere in what an NTU student does in campus and told me to get lost. I explained to him that his actions is no different from littering offence and he replied rudely that he is an undergraduate who do not need uncles to teach him what to do.

S’porean employee at the mercy of Indian FT manager in Citibank

The worst happened when my boss was asked to leave last year as management refresh alignment and they hired a new guy from India. This person has high self esteem and never take his subordinates feedback into consideration. What’s more, he treats people whom are below his rank with no respect. Now, he is targeting me as I’m the only local and non-Indian in the organization chart. He speaks and jokes loudly during meeting using only Indian language. He’s oblivious to others. He shouts and uses abusive language when he wants work done by me and my team.

SG Banker Jobless After Forced to Resign by FT Manager

I have exhausted my resources and am expecting the writ of summons in a day or two, which will ultimately lead to my bankruptcy. I am trying to be positive to avoid depression. I left my prior banking job in 2013 due to the unpleasant work relationship with my superior. I worked with several bosses till the latest superior who is a FT turned PR. My performance rating was exceptional since I joined the company and the latter of average rating was given to me by my ex-FT boss. The reason being, I did not deliver the expectations where else in actual fact, I have actually contributed equally to all my team members.

So Singaporean graduates can’t get a job?

Last week, I heard an interesting rumor that Japanese run NHK is making a documentary about “How graduates in Singapore CANNOT find jobs”! It seems like some people already got interviewed about this topic. I’m not sure how accurate that is. The fact is, success rates of graduates from the NUS getting a job see an employment rate of between 80%-100% (most ranging the upper percentiles) within 6 months of their final exam. From my observations, Singaporeans have many opportunities in the employment market. The jobs here are diverse, interesting and offer a wide variety of wage packages. They cater to a wide variety of skills, abilities and interests.
