We are organising our 4th labour day indoor event on 1st May 4pm for the workers entitled “Jobs for Singaporeans first”. Workers worldwide will be celebrating labour day ground-up and we hope to do it annually in Singapore on our own as well.

Received warning e-mail from HR. Keng MC tio caught by boss... My boss saw me in vivo when i'm supposed to be on MC on Monday. He straight away send complain e-mail with pictures taken of me shopping at Vivo (specifically mentioned to HR, pictures were taken on monday)...

This is a company that my sister worked for a while and wasn't paid or treated appropriately. First the superman said her pay will be credited within 7 - 10 working days. Then he told her he didn't mentioned such a thing. He can only pay her the end of following month.

About 95 per cent of the cases were resolved by the ministry and the Labour Court, Mr Lim said” – does it mean that on the average – only about 1.2 per cent (53 divided by 4,500) of the employers who were the subject of non-payment of salary complaints, were hauled to court in a year?

She has been complaining that she manager will deduct $120 a day for MC taken. I told her it is against MOM rule for such deduction but she is afraid of confrontation with the management. The manager even dare to challenge any staff to report such arrangement. He said "I will sack u for being a difficult staff"!!!

MOM and perhaps MinLaw need to get their act together. It is ridiculous for a decent honest worker to be denied his pay for 9 months, and at the end of this to be told to sort things out himself.

I just saw this Facebook post where a local company had declared a stop work order for all its employees due to the unhealthy PSI, and I thought it was cool and great that FINALLY a Singaporean employer cares about its employees' welfare instead of expecting them to work non-stop!
