WFH Employees Exploited By Longer Working Hours Due To Endless Zoom Meetings

It has been few months since the culture of WFH - work from home started. I hope if Ministry of Manpower (MOM) is not too busy with foreign workers, they can spare some time to look into some of the situations we are currently facing. It is becoming a norm I have to attend zoom meetings for 6 to 7 hours a day, leaving me with 3 to 4 hours to complete assigned tasks despite already working more than 10 hours a day.

An employer who had caused public outrage last May after he was shown allegedly slapping his worker in an online video, was charged in court on Wednesday. 43 year-old Lee Yew Nam, the boss of IT software company Encore eServices, is accused of five counts of causing hurt to his 30 year-old employee Calvin Chan Meng Hock and one charge of abusing him.
