TESLA MODEL 3: NOW TAKING ORDERS FROM SINGAPORE

CEO Elon Musk tweeted on 1 Apr 2016 that its all-electric car will be available in Singapore. Mr Musk said he was “fairly confident” that deliveries worldwide would begin by the end of next year, starting with North America. The US pricing for the Model 3 will start from US$35,000 (S$47,213). At present, it is not know how much the car will cost in Singapore after the Certificate of Entitlement prices and other charges or rebates.

ELECTRICITY BILL TO FALL AFTER 18.4% DROP IN NATURAL GAS PRICE

After its quarterly electricity tariffs review, SP Services announced on 1 October 2015 (Thursday) that electricity tariffs will fall by an average of 9.3 per cent for the next quarter of the year. The tariff will decrease by 2.06 cent per kWh for Oct 1 to Dec 31. In real terms, the average electricity bill for families living in 4-room flats will fall by $8.78.

New scholarship to nurture talent in power sector

A new industry scholarship is now available for those pursuing relevant engineering courses at the Institute of Technical Education (ITE), polytechnics and universities. The Energy-Industry Scholarship (EIS), co-funded by the government and power sector companies, aims to develop and nurture talent for the power sector. Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents who will be / are currently pursuing relevant engineering courses are welcomed to apply. The closing date for the scholarship application is March 14, 2014.
