GROUP OF ELITE RJC STUDENTS OVERHEARD UNFAIRLY CRITICIZING WP

A group raffles jc boys and girls sit at junction 8 mcd talk so loud. Say what WP performance in Parliament cannot make it. Got one guy even say his debate skills better than all WP members combined. Then say PAP is actually doing a good job, maintaining good balance dunno what fiscal and monetary policies.

I was one of the recruit that was from the same intake with this particular recruit. He was the haughtiest guy I have ever met. Being from a good JC, I thought I was elitist enough until I've met him. And to those who feels that he got a grave injustice done in army, he didnt. He is in PES C and I guess we can all agree that our sergeants have been very nice to us and have been light on the punishment (20 push ups a day). Furthermore, he has often boasted about his malingering when others are doing the minimal physical activities PES C bmt has to offer.

NSFs are not stupid and they ‘have eyes to see’ for themselves how PAP policies have disadvantaged them in their careers, enslaving them to 30-year mortgages for a pigeon hole in the sky, having millions of units of cheap labour at our doorstep waiting to steal our lunch, etc. No amount of love-our-country-must-serve-NS propaganda will convince NSFs that PAP’s double standard and flawed policies work in our interest.

Elitism, in reality, is just the darker side of meritocracy. What has come about is a natural consequence of meritocracy - when we stream students according to their abilities, it is only natural that students whose families can afford better quality education make it to better institutions. It is no fault of the school or the students or the precedence that previous principals have set. If anything, it is the fault of meritocracy.
