NETIZEN ASKS WHO IS THE SMARTEST & MOST CAPABLE MINISTER IN S'PORE

Probably a controversial question with all the government hate around here but well, you can't deny the SG government isnt pragmatic and capable in what they do. So just to be objective for once, which current minister do you think would probably be the most smartest, or capable, person in the government body right now? I'm just curious.

ONE-PARTY RULE ONLY OPTION FOR SG TO SUCCEED

Education Minister Ong Ye Kung finally came out and say what all Singaporeans know, that the party in power would really want to keep all the power to themselves. He came out and blatantly said that the one-party rule in Singapore is the best way forward to ensure Singapore's success.

The people in power is now so scared of losing their grip on power, that it is now not enough to always find fault with opposition party. They rolled out their Minister to go out and say that if we dare choose any other party to provide the balance and check in Parliament, then Singapore is in danger of failing. So much for democracy.

SLA FORCED FOOTBALL ACADEMY TO CLOSE AFTER 7PM. UNCARING ELITES WIN AGAIN

SLA recently acted on complaints by 5 residents who had demanded that the football academy pitches at the Home United Youth Football Academy (HYFA) be shut down, due to the noise it generated. Five people versus hundreds of kids who would have been given the opportunity to enjoy being kids and play on real football pitches, instead of on their mobile devices, and SLA bowed down to these five people.

Apparently, the noise generated from people playing football is too noisy, so cannot concentrate on other more important things. SLA in the first place had slated the space for sports usage, now they backtracked and ordered the pitches to be closed after 7pm. Singapore wants a sports culture, but if authorities cannot even be firm against five residents (!), then how is sports culture going to be cultivated?

PAPER GENERAL NG CHEE MENG TELL STUDENTS TO CHIONG BUT OWNSELF NV WORK IN PRIVATE SECTOR BEFORE

PAP elites have always been hypocrites, preferring ordinary citizens to walk their talk while ministers only do the talking. The most recent instance of such hypocrisy – Education Minister Ng Chee Meng urging students ‘to dare to chiong’. However, the former paper general is a product of a kiasu plus kiasi education system and has earned millions in tax dollars since 1987. Ng has been playing it very safe and has not worked a single day in his life in the private sector: he clearly does not know the meaning of ‘chiong’.

I would like to share my reflections on what the upcoming SG50 anniversary means to me, based on my personal experiences as an average Singaporean. I have come to realize that the poor and lower-middle class represent an entirely different Singapore from the rich and upper-middle class. We are like two different nations.

SINGAPORE'S ELITES ARE FLEEING FROM SHITHOLE S'PORE

WSJ published an article on the statistic regarding high net worth Singaporeans planing to flee their native countries. Turns out that Singapore, the so call most prosperous country in the world has the 2nd highest percentage of elites planing to vote with the legs. While PAP keep bragging how good Singapore is, seems that PAP's own kind, the elites do not buy that. Not just the peasants, the elites are seeing Singapore as a shithole, hopping to flee this island as fast as possible.

Make Singapore more attractive to lure back overseas citizens

SINGAPORE is making attempts to woo overseas Singaporeans back to contribute their talents and skills to our country ("Govt taps recruiters to lure overseas S'poreans home"; March 3). For the attempts to be successful, Singapore must be seen and felt as a place that is better than the citizens' current country of residence. First, we must treat those who return like any other Singaporean. These people are likely more well-educated and thus will be holding higher-paying jobs on their return. We must not consider them elites and be envious of them. This envy will inevitably cause resentment towards them, discouraging other overseas Singaporeans from coming home.
