MARSILING RESIDENT STARTS PETITION FOR BY-ELECTION, CALLS FOR MORE SUPPORT

SDP volunteer and Marsiling-Yew Tee resident Abdul Salim Harun is starting a petition to call for a By-Election in the GRC after Halimah Yacob stepped down from her position. He will be doing house visits and explaining to residents the importance of a By-Election.

PAP LOGIC FOR REJECTING MARSILING BY-ELECTION PROVES NO NEED FOR MINORITY IN GRC?

Lee Hsien Loong will not be holding a By-Election at Marsiling-Yee Tee following Halimah Yacob's resignation. This is despite her being the only minority MP in the 4-seat GRC. The GRC was envisaged as a system to ensure minority representation but now the Chan Chun Sing claims that this should be seen at the overall aggregate level. Worse, in a blatant violation of the principle of democracy, the authoritarian party now intends to appoint an unelected grassroots leader to take over Halimah Yacob's role.

WE NEED BY-ELECTION IN MARSILING-YEW TEE, DON'T LET RULING PARTY PLAY WITH THE CONSTITUTION

Our reader who is a resident of Marsiling-Yew Tee finds it undemocratic for the ruling party to play around with the Constitution and have Mdm Halimah Yacob quit the party in order to run for the Presidential election. She said this is not what the residents have voted for and hopes opposition politicians can do something about this.

PAP HATER ASKS FOR BY-ELECTION AFTER HENG'S STROKE, K SHANMUGAM RIPS INTO HIM

After news broke that Finance Minister Heng Swee Keat had suffered a stroke and collapsed during a Cabinet Meeting, Law and Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam shared that Heng had been overworking due to his incredible workload helming the Finance Ministry and other important projects. On Minister Shanmugam's Facebook was a presumably Opposition supporter Raymond Tan who asked "If Heng Swee Keat dies, will there be a by election. Just curious".

4 REASONS WHY TALENTED DR CHEE WILL TRASH PAP PART-TIMER MURALI PILLAI

100% Commitment: Dr Chee will be a FULL TIME MP for BB and able to be fully committed to fellow residents of BB. But Mr Murali will hold a full time job as a top class lawyer who can easily earn a million per year - only likely less than 20% of his time as MP as will earn less than 20% of his income as MP say $200k per year while getting a million a year as a top notch lawyer.

WP PRITAM SINGH: EVEN IF SDP WINS BY-ELECTION, RESIDENTS WILL STILL GET UPGRADING

In 2011, about 3-4 weeks before the General Elections, the then PAP-managed Aljunied Town Council carried out an exhibition for a Neighbourhood Renewal Programme (NRP) at a precinct in my ward of Eunos. The timing and message of the exhibition was political by any stretch of the imagination, i.e. vote for PAP, you get upgrading. I have no doubt HDB will not withdraw NRP funds committed for the NRP at Blk 140-149 Bukit Batok West Ave 4, regardless who wins, based on the post-2011 precedent of Eunos Spring. It would be opening itself up to a judicial review of administrative action in Court if it did.

EX WP, EX SDA, RECENTLY SINGFIRST MEMBER TO JOIN BB BY-ELECTION?

It looks like one more person has collected the nominations form from the Elections Department.

His name is Abdul Rahim bin Osman, 59 years old, a business man.

In the 1997 general elections, he was with the Workers' Party team that contested for Cheng San GRC. They garnered 45.2% votes.

In 2001, he contested under the SDA banner for Tampines GRC. They received 26.7% of the votes.

In the last two years, Abdul Rahim was with SingFirst.

CAN WE REALLY COUNT ON MURALI TO ADDRESS CRITICAL NATIONAL ISSUES?

I hope she will take it from an Aljunied resident under direct contact with Murali in Paya Lebar of the pretense of most PAP representatives whether they are elected or otherwise. PM Lee said he had "full faith" in Murali when he sent him to Paya Lebar to battle Mr Chen and in the process, made all kinds of false promises. We recently discovered his heart was "still in Bt Batok" and he "never really left there".

In Paya Lebar during insincere letter writing sessions only once a month, many of the residents feedback to government agencies are masked and only palatable portions are sent to the various parliamentary secretaries and ministers of state who take it as a pinch of salt and reject the request anyway. So if it's going to be the same when you vote PAP candidates after election time, you might as well send the opposition to parliament where you can at the very least, get a double portion of benefits from both!

FUCK OFF SHIRWIN EU, GIVE DR CHEE A CHANCE

It was a straight forward by-election between the PAP Murali Pillai and SDP Chee Soon Juan.

As usual, this joker, Shirwin Eu has to go collect the nomination forms. Who is he? Has he even walked the ground.

At least Murali had painted a wall for the elderly.

Dr Chee, I really respect him. Never did he bring up the disgraced David Ong's affair. He just went about like a true gentleman, speaking to the residents.
