MOH: WHATSAPP MESSAGE ABOUT FREE TRANSPORT VOUCHERS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS IS WRONG

A WhatsApp message about senior citizens being eligible for a $50 public transport voucher if they visit any SMRT office today is false and misleading, says the Ministry of Health (MOH). Although MOH will be providing a SG50 Seniors discount on transport for senior citizens, the redemption period starts only next monday, 15th June, as opposed to the message which claims that redemption is for today only.

An elderly man who sells tissues for a living around the road traffic junctions of Bugis Street and Raffles City was exposed recently for trying to scam kind hearted passersby into buying tissues for him. His ruse? Pretending to fall down while crossing the busy intersection, which send his bag of tissues scattering all over the place. This would attract concerned passersby who would help the man pick up his tissues.

The old lady approached the seat. Before she could even sit down,the china lady just pulled her friend over to seat on the RESERVED seating immediately. The old lady was stunned. Luckily she was close enough to see.me gesturing to her to take my seat. I was really angry about this matter as i felt that they were shameless. KUDOS TO FOREIGN WORKER WHO HELPED OLD LADY CROSS ROAD SAFELY

According to Lina, the traffic was heavy at the time, but that did not deter the worker from helping the old woman who was struggling to cross the road on her own. The construction worker immediately stopped his work to help the elderly woman cross the street at Science Park Road.
