LIM SWEE SAY SAYS: UNEMPLOYMENT TO RISE BUT WE’LL EMERGE STRONGER

Manpower Minister Lim Swee Say has said that we will experience a rise in unemployment rate. In his May Day message, he said some sectors are still struggling with structural changes and would need more time to get through this stressful period. Although the unemployment rate for Singaporean workers rose to 3% last year, Mr Lim told people not to worry as he is sure the economy is still growing. He said while there is no shortcut to success, he is convinced that we will emerge stronger from this as long as employers and workers are faster in coping with challenges and adjusting to new environments. Don't say metal rice bowl, got wooden rice bowl must be happy already.

S’PORES 5 ECONOMIC MINISTERS PRODUCE THE SLOWEST GROWTH IN ASIA

5 economic ministers for so little GDP growth Singapore economy grew the slowest among Asian countries in 2016, prompting Reuters to call us "the new sick man of Asia", a title that the Philippines held for many years in the past. Yet we have so many ministers supposedly taking charge of the economy - a DPM for the economy, 2 finance ministers and 2 ministers for trade and industry, a total of 5 economic ministers producing so little economic growth of 1.6%. It's time for PM to trim his Cabinet and be productive.

S’PORE IS DYING THAT’S WHY I HAVE TO VOTE PAP

We are screwed. Singapore's 3 major component that build up our economies are poised to die. And whats left of manufacturing, airport, pharmaceutical sectors, biotech, educational hub etc are just not large employers or big money earners. I am not smart enough to know what we can do. I honestly think the current government is not that smart too, but what choice do we have.
