Lesson #1 from our famous train delays: When SMRT and SBS Transit announce a 10-min delay to your journey, what they actually mean is 10-min delay AT EVERY STATION. DTL disruption yesterday evening caused confusion with commuters taking to SBS Transit Twitter Page to expose its misleading 10 minute delay announcement.

Yesterday, there was a disruption on the Downtown Line (DTL). Since I was already stuck on the train, I checked SBS' twitter account. They said that there was a "signalling fault" and commuters should add an additional travel time of about 10 minutes. Common sense means if I normally reach my destination in 20 mins, means I will reach in 30 mins instead right? WRONG!! When SBS Transit said 10 minutes delay, they actually mean 10 mins delay at EACH FRIGGIN' station.

The LTA and SBS Transit say that the dislodged platform door on DTL station at Sixth Avenue was due to a bolt that holds the door to the guide rail loosening over time. What kind of bolt did they use? From Taobao?

I promised Downtown Line staff a durian treat if DTL crossed the 300-day disruption-free milestone. And they did, last week! This is both significant and very inspiring for the other MRT lines. They will now shoot for the 400-day milestone.
