IT’S OFFICIAL, FUTURE MUSIC FESTIVAL IS CANCELLED

Organisers Livescape Singapore Pte Ltd announced today that Future Music Festival Asia 2015, which was due to be held at Changi Exhibition Centre on 13th and 14th March, has been cancelled. "We are also aware of the many fans overseas that have made travel arrangements into Singapore for the festival. We are extremely sorry for the inconvenience you’ve been put through,” Livescape said in a statement issued to CNA. Full ticket refunds will be made available to all ticket buyers, details of which will be made available by tomorrow evening, according to organisers.

TRAFFICKING CHARGE AGAINST DRUG OFFENDER DROPPED

Initially defending himself, he told the court that his "aim had been to end (his) life" after his girlfriend was sent back to China for immigration offences. She then gave birth to a boy who died a short time later. After a six-day trial, the court found that independent evidence supported his account of his acute depression and District Judge Low Wee Ping said he was not convinced beyond reasonable doubt by the prosecution's case.

JOBLESS MALAY DRUGGIE THREATHENED AND ROBBED 13-YEAR OLD BOY WITH KNIFE

Jobless Mohamed Faizal Manokhor Ali, 35, admitted robbing the 13-year-old of his mobile phone, wallet, ezLink card and coins in a lift at Jurong West Central 1 on April 1 this year. Five other charges were taken into consideration during sentencing - including robbing three other boys of their phones. A district court heard that Faizal was loitering near Block 689 Jurong West Central 1 on April 1 when he decided to rob the youngster as he returned home from school.

Drug courier saved by unusual defence

He was a drug courier who knew that a person convicted of trafficking in more than 250g of methamphetamine, commonly called Ice, may face death. So Mohammad Farid Mohd Yusop had an arrangement with his boss - he was prepared to deliver only up to 250g of the drug. This was the unusual defence of the 30-year-old Singaporean arrested with more than 380g of Ice in his car.
