Even though the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM) have promised to be accountable by holding a review, Dr Tan Cheng Bock wonders if the reviews are "independent enough to be 100% objective." Dr Tan Cheng Bock counter-proposes that the government should create an independent review board to look into this case. The benefits of having an independent body will be its ability to uncover any "underlying systematic faults" instead of chasing after short-sighted targets like hunting for individual human errors and finding scapegoats.

While Dr Tan Cheng Bock was doing a Progress Singapore Party (PSP) walkabout at the Redhill area, a tattooed man in blue suddenly went up Dr Tan Cheng Bock and started shouting at him in Chinese. The man was also seen to be gesturing rudely at Dr Tan. Dr Tan Cheng Bock and his entourage responded to this incident in a cool and calm manner.

The Progress Singapore Party (PSP), led by former PAP MP and Singapore's new opposition favourite Dr Tan Cheng Bock, has confirmed that they will officially launch their party on 3 August at Swissotel Merchant Hotel. The official launch had actually been planned for 16 June at Singapore Expo, but police permit and other related permits were not approved on time.

While Dr Tan remained disappointed that the official launch had to be postponed even thought the authorities had been given enough lead time to approve all the respective permits, he had told his organising team that they must continue to comply with all the permits required for the event, no matter how many there are.

My goal for running the event from the very beginning was to physically do something about the ridiculous amendments to the elected presidency. I know that the bill will be passed on Monday, but at least I have done my part to register my disagreement with the whole charade to justify the amendments to the Elected Presidency.

The smaller minority parties will set conditions to join. There will be a lot of horse trading and bargaining for ministerial posts and other key appointments. So you might get a DPM from a minority party or a finance minister from yet another party, as seen in many countries with coalition governments. In such scenarios, each party would want to exert its influence and impress the people to score political points. More importantly, they may also try to court the President’s favour to utilise the reserves and lobby the appointments of key personnel in the civil service and stat boards.
